After working in television production and story development for nearly a decade, Janek attended the Loyalist College photojournalism school. He has since photographed politicians, royals, sports heroes, entertainers and the odd tornado for the Waterloo Region Record and Winnipeg Free Press. His work has also appeared in Progress Magazine, Watershed Magazine, Playback Magazine, the Toronto Star, Ottawa Citizen, Calgary Herald, Vancouver Sun and The Coast among others. 

Janek freelances as a writer and photographer for news, commercial and documentary clients, and still works in television - this time holding the camera, sometimes wearing hip-waders.
